Kel's leaving

Sunday, December 31

Slowly, slowly... ... I see my Uni mates scattering across different states. Though, I am so used to see people come and go. But, it still gets to me.

Seriously, I am not too sure if it was because I am going home. So, all the emo-ing begins or if it was for... ...

Kel is relocating to Melbourne.

I didn’t organize any going-away-party because all my uni mates would be appearing on Kel’s party anyway, and the rest have already made arrangements with me.

The sad thing is, the more you see people, the harder it is for you to leave. So, I prefer to exit quietly.

So we had a barbee, with lashings of ketchup, tons of drinks, loud music, all good fun!

Bittersweet memories, it was.

Happiness keeps you SWEET

Friday, December 29

For it was yesterday that brings today. My Retro birthday bash '05, was a blast! I had the whole bar to myself!

Finger food. Great tunes. Tinkering wine glasses. Slamming beer mugs. Shots are also the rigeur. Fabulous people. Cheery laughter.

Someone told me, "you will care less as you grow older". Well, maybe. Maybe not. But I felt it becoming more apparent lately. I kinda lost my creativity to celebrate my birthday - or I should say, I can't be bothered.

Turning a year older, hopefully wiser hur! As it was kinda roller coaster ride for me, I felt as though I have gone through so much for this year (+ 1 years old).

Lots of emotional flunctuations - extreme happiness when I was lifted to the peak.... then, gravity sucks me down forcefully and I fell all the way, right to the bottom and the cycle repeats itself.

I guessed going through all these makes me a HUMAN?

Looking at the transition..... gosh, I am really getting older. *shake head*

No big plans. Nothing huge on my birthday. I just wanted something very simple, so I had a series of lunch dates at work (throughout the week), followed by a small celebration with my dearlies on my birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!

Bonding session in Brisy!

Thursday, December 28

Absense makes the heart grows fonder.

I HEART BRISBANE!!!
I wouldn't mind to go there over and over again! Last year I have been to Gold Coast & Surfers Paradise. This year... my plan is to comb brisy!

Yes, I travelled alone (again).
But, I guessed it didn't matter because I trust that I will be well received!

Actually, this trip was more like a bonding session for me and my secondary school mates! Isn't it amazing that we used to wear the same school uniform, see each other in our cuckoo hairdo, mock at each other when we get punished, but now... ...
we are all doing our own thing?

That is the importance of catching up.

I arrived in Brisbane at 11-ish. Curry was my late night supper. The next day meant rising (relatively) bright and early at 1pm!!!! HOLY CRAP!

All because of the late night chats, and that actually continued for the next 2 days.

oh man, my Body clock was totally screwed!!! - anyway, who cares about dark eye bags when you have got great companion!

DAY 1 was more like zombie-ing around. Waited for them to finish class. Loitered around the city like an illegal gathering of school kids. Starbucks coffee. But hey! It was pretty fun to do things that you used to do when you were little!

While I was enjoying the companion of my good ol' friends, I made new friends too!

Introducing... ....

Day 2 was a bit more normal... but still, I was the only one found sleeping in the hostel when all the kids have gone to uni!!!

When they are back! We were off to comb the city!!!!
We mainly talked, chitchatted and updated each other with what we have been up to since we have left school.

They also showed me around the campus of UQ and it was so huge that they even have a boat station within the Uni! Seriously, if I were to study in Brisy, I would NEVER graduate in sucha funfilled environment!

Of all the casinos that I have been to... I like this best!

Apart from sightseeing, we did lotsa shopping too! Despite of that we are still heading to gold coast to shop on the next day!

SHOPED SO MUCH TILL MY SHOE GAVE WAY!

Name calling. Soul food. SHOPPING.
OLD SCHOOL mates ROX!!!
Though, it was a short and last minute getaway but every bit of it was filled with laughter and amusement! Therefore, the parting bit is always the toughest.

- Not waking up 5am in the morning to get to the airport.

Big love to you guys for having me!
Thank you for showing me around!

Your Timely Reminder

Saturday, October 28

Blogger hates me.

I have been trying to post this up for ages and it says "error".

Anyway, nothing can upset me now.

All bad things have come to an end and you know... I have been promoted*~*!!!!
Only 9 months in the Graduate Role & I am done!!! *YEY!!!*

So, as of 29 october, I am 2.5Hours ahead of SG Time!

Which means, my birthday marks the start date for Daylight Savings/Summer Time!

(For those of you who aren't familiar with Daylight Savings, it refers to turning our clocks forward for an hour, to promote the longer use of daylight in certain months of the year)

BoohooOO... LOSE ONE HOUR to sleep(!!!)

but

I have got the SUN back!! WooHOOO

Random, but relevant

Thursday, October 26

Noticed that my enteries are fairly sparse these days.

Eeyyerr... I have got so much to update but I don't know where to start. So, let's do the team meeting's way.

1. House keeping
Revamping my blog in progress, please excuse the ugly alignment.
.
.
.
Nah... can't update that way. If I do that, I'll lose the very personal-blinkiton-touch. Have to stick to the plan!! Nonsense, incoherant, random = how i blog!

Alritey! Let's restart!

The globe has been spinning round and round, days are passing by and it's almost the end of the month again! Everything is simply happening too fast for me!!! Before I get the time to sit down, sip tea and allow my thoughts to channel through... ... there you are... IT'S OCTOBER (now it is almost the end)!

I have a truckload of photos, tons of words in my head and eager fingers to hit the keyboard. You bet, there will be lotsa visual and verbal diarrhoea from now on (but first, I need to fix up my new blogskin).

.

.

.

Mate, October is certainly my favourite time of the year. So far, so GOOD!!!

3 days to my birthday!!!!! WOOHOOO!!!

l SUMMER TIME, BABY!!! l

Sometime ago I took up Golf tution and mastered the basics of the swinging action! No progress after the series of tution because winter was just too cold to do anything and spring has got too much wind!!

(That's my first lesson!! I was struggling so hard to get my posture right)
Can't wait for the sun to rise and wind to go!!!

Yes, because this is my birth month... because the sun is coming out... because I gonna re-stocked my wardrobe for the season.. because I need to get pre-birthday pressies for myself... so I am changing my wardrobe!
I even bought paded clothes hanger!!!

Walking on Sunshine

Friday, October 20

Sing-song-voice: Its a new dawn. Its a new day. It's a new life and I am feeling good.

After everyone has had a few months of VCD/DVD/TV weather and the cold has probably kept them inside for too long ... ....

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!!!
m ITS SPRING TIME!!! m

The sun pops up on the horizon. It comes to us like a warm fuzzy glow in the middle of a desolate and sometimes boring in-between-season!

(Although, it was suppose to be spring but we still get freaking chilly days, especially at nite. I suppose it is still within the transition period into Spring.)

Therefore, I am really hype up about the sun.
OH GLORIOUS SUN!

Since we had been blessed with such a gorgeous weather, it is then our honourable duty to make FULL USE OF IT!!!

As such, we happily ditched our coats and spent a day at the Botanic Park!

Hmm... Maybe the heat made everyone a little more excited than usual.
I want Stefi's tee!
*ROAR!*

Not long later, the sun was burning our skin and we are turning red. So, Stefi's family taught me to be sun smart.

What a blissful day! We watched the ducks swimming at the pond (was it ducks/swans? - memory shortfall HAHA), sing songs as we stroll along, looked at flowers, looked at trees, watched a dragonfly flew past, took pictures, enjoy the breeze, laughed out loud, ate ice-cream.... etc

For Kenny and Yvonne (Paige's friend), who are both in Darwin.

++++
That winter, I held onto you so tightly.
But you said you have to go.

And, it makes me feel like crying.

I waited (and is still waiting)... ..
Till all the flowers withered

And this Spring, they can't blossom again
... because you are not here with me.
++++

Oh man! That was so out of point.
So random!!!
Let's talk about all the gorgeous flowers instead!

Purple roses. So romantic!!!! I have never seen such a full blown (or I should say really huge) rose!!
Bigger than my palm!!!

Not only are the roses beautiful, their names were very unique too. Here's a few to show:

Mama's favourite flower, Birds of Paradise.

Apparently, she told me that was her NO. 1 when I was 10 and I went... HUR(??!!) ... It appears to be an ugly flower which I can never appreciate then, but now, I think it is elegant.

Here's my favourite Photo!!! The flowers are so pretty!

I heart my tee.
I heart my tulip shorts.

The sky was cloud-less!! See... see... see...

Under 1 Roof

Saturday, October 14

Righty-ho!
Last year, this time... ...

... was a blast!

This year?
Adrian opted for a more OZ laid back style - BBQ at his place!

You know, your friend here is a strictly no beef and lamb person so I am only left with chicken wings, fish balls and marshmallows!!! Luckily, the Thai-style fried rice was good and I had 3 plates full! OOPppss..

(If not, I would probably ransack his cupboard for instant noodles! *gulp)

However, the main emphasis of this post is not Adrian's birthday... but his place. It just occured to me that I have to show you how special his place is!!!

Many of you reckon that living with your mates is cool, but... ... honestly, IT IS NOT ALWAYS THE CASE! All of us are brought up differently and therefore, we have different living habits - not forgetting to mention personality. While it is hard to avoid friction in your family, imagine what is going to happen when you live with your friends or worse, strangers! I have a very good example of a very tidy person VS a group of less tidy people.

*WAVES* SUE-ANN & WENDY YOU MUST READ THIS!!!

Since the two of you have left, there has been a MAJOR REVAMP ON HOUSE RULES!!! Both of you should really see it. For my friends who have tough house mates, read on!!!

If they think cleaning fairies exists... you should have this:

If they do not make use of shoe racks and have one million pairs of shoes each....

So, you want some proof that it works...

Shocking results, isn't it?

If you have a dripping tap and yes... we all know....
*shouting: WATER CARE IS IN YOUR HANDS, matie!!!

With clear directions and illustrations, your instructions are now their command! No more excuses! On one hand, I would say Well done, Adrian! On the other hand... my heart goes out to his housemates... *LOL

Tots on a still Night

Sunday, October 8

Does the title of this post rings a bell? Yea... ... it came from one of Li Bai's poems - a very famous one too!

I miss home and I haven't celebrated Mooncake Festival for ages. This year, Stefi invited me over for dinner to spend this special day with the most happening family here!!!

So happening that our laughter and voices could almost tear down the house!

Look at what Stefi's mum has prepared for us!!! She has got it all under control and she even got lanterns for our post-dinner activity!

*TWO THUMBS UP*
We were so bloated after dinner because food was excellant!

Night falls pretty soon after dinner and we began PART 2 of our Mooncake Festival Celebration!!

We were playing like a bunch of kids, lighting up lanterns in the garden and Paige don't mean to scare us. She just wanted to parade around with her lantern.

But carrying red lanterns at night is indeed VERY SCARY!!!! I am glad that not long after, the moonlight lit up the spooky cloak of darkness! So does our lanterns!!!

Definitely soaking ourselves up in the uber fun atmosphere!

Singing: The More We Get together, together, together. The more we get together THE MERRIER WE"LL BE!!! **

However, I feel bad for those of you who are affected by haze. If that has deprived you from enjoying the moonlight, you can enjoy it here (see below). HAHAHA
*WAVES TO SU-ANN*

Alritey! As most of us were shivering in cold... we decided to snap a few shots, hurry into the house and proceed with PART 3!

Courtesy of Paige, so I get to taste a few types of MOONCAKE!!! MMMmmm.... I love the ones with YAM fillings (!!) and the ones with yolks too!!

Next, we went to Adrian's place to help him prepare for his BBQ!!!
"HOW EXCITING" - *LOL*

You know, if there is a shortage of food supplies, I reckon his house is the best place to run to! He has stocked his place with so much food!!! He even has a full collection of all the different kind of flour in the market!

Hmmmm... Let's see..
Get together & Have Dinner - checked
Play Lantern - checked
Eat Mooncake - checked
Drink Tea - checked
Recite poems - checked (*jaw dropped)
Enjoy the Full Moon - checked

What else have we missed out?
....
....

YES! We have yet to plunge ourselves into an array of beautiful SPRING flowers!!!

lHEY PEEPS l

*** Broadcast: Happy Birthday to Michelle!!!***

Apologies for the dry spell, folks! Here's my September's cum early Oct's update!

*shake head* l have been leading such a hectic schedule, staring at the monitor, hunching over a keyboard for many hours till the sun sets, stomach complains, go home in darkness, sleeping later-and-later... ...

I have 3 days in the office and the other 2 spent in Uni - that is the main reason for all the I-rather-kill-myself-shit, than being-put-to-hell.

Well, it ain't all that bad here, because my colleague buys me Freddo Chocolate at 3pm. (Who else, but T!!!)

This has been my latest perk in getting in to work - friend gives you choco to congratulate you on surviving half of your ultrafabulouslybusy day.

I hope to fast forward the boring bits of my lecture - so I can go home to zzZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!

My second bit of work is like: I stare at the ceiling. The ceiling returned my stare. I sunk my head into the thick handouts and the financial reports are still, unsinkable.

Bugger it.

I hate financial reporting. The lecturer talk sense, but the numbers don't talk like him.

All work, no play?
Nah, that just isn't me. Of course I make time to make myself feel good and because I have been such a good girl, I deserve some pampering!

I finally had my moment in Endota Spa on Rundle Street! A full body massage (that includes foot massage), clay wrap to the body and a facial. Leaving me with skin that glows from head to toe!

*Super delicious for busy September!

Let me also show you the WONDERS of Purchasing Power... or I should say, my early birthday treats!

I know I am doing so much damage to my pocket. But, what can you do when Spring/Summer requires a different type of Skincare?
That's right, buy.
New season, new trend. What to do? - Buy again.
I am hopeless, I know.

Lastly, let's bid farewell to winter too!!!

aI LOVE SPRING!!!
